Vintage Mexican Hand Embroidered Yellow Cotton Boho Peasant Folk Blouse Shirt
This vintage Mexican hand embroidered yellow cotton boho peasant folk blouse shirt dates from the 1940s. It is made of an off white heavy woven cotton fabric with yellow hand stitched embroidered decorative folk art designs from the indigenous Mixe community of Santa Maria Tlahuitolepec in the Oaxacan region of Mexico. The traditional embroidered designs are around the top yoke collar with peacock feather birds on the back and pleated gathering details. This pretty peasant traditional Oaxacan Mexican bohemian style folk top blouse is loose fitting, with a pleated high band collar neckline, long full balloon sleeves with snap closures on the pleated sleeve cuffs, along both shoulders and is unlined. There is a "Telamex Made in Mexico" label sewn inside. The top measures 30 inches long, with a 42 inch chest, 48 inch waist, 22 inch long sleeves and a 17 inch back. It is in good condition, has not been cleaned with some small faint stains scattered. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Mexican folk art!
